Sean Gelael, Darren Leung, and Dan Harper started in second place in the Bronze Cup class of the GT World Challenge Europe (GTWCE) Endurance Cup, but their struggle ended prematurely. Despite Leung taking over the lead in the early stages of the race, their advantage was short-lived. Leung found himself in a collision with Riccardo Cazzaniga from Tresor Attempto Racing 88, who was in the Gold class, within the first 10 minutes of the race. The incident resulted in damage to the rear left suspension of Leung’s car, forcing them to retire from the race, disappointing not only Leung but also Sean Gelael and Dan Harper.
Following the incident, the Paradine Competition 991 team also failed to finish the race, while the Tresor Attempto Racing 88 team experienced damages as well. Despite pit crew’s efforts to get Leung to bring the car to the garage and change the rear left tire, his response indicated that the damage was too severe.
Dan Harper expressed his disappointment in a Facebook post, mentioning that they had high hopes for the race weekend that were shattered due to the contact in the first 10 minutes. He commended the Paradine team, Leung, and Gelael for their hard work. The winners of the 3 Hours of Nurburgring GTWCE were 2 Seas Motorsport 222 in the Bronze Cup, Boutsen VDS 10 in the Silver Cup, Verstappen.com Racing 33 in the Gold Cup, and Rowe Racing 98 in the Pro class.
Following the race at Nurburgring, Sean Gelael continued his participation in the FIA World Endurance Championship at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) on September 7, 2025.
