Corey Heim ended up dominating the recent NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) race at Rockingham, although the victory did not come easy. Towards the end of the race, Heim faced challenges with his No. 1 truck, suspecting a tire issue. As he dealt with slower traffic, his teammate Kaden Honeycutt caught up, leading to an intense battle for the win, with both drivers side-by-side on the final lap. Ultimately, Heim managed to hold onto the lead by a narrow margin, securing his 25th career NCTS win.

Having previously won the first Triple Truck Challenge race at Darlington, Heim’s victory at Rockingham earned him an extra $100,000 to add to his $50,000 bonus. The potential to win an additional $500,000 at the final Triple Truck Challenge race in Bristol is now within reach should he sweep all three races.

In the race standings, Layne Riggs took third place, followed by Chandler Smith in fourth, and Stewart Friesen in fifth. The top ten was completed by Grant Enfinger, Tyler Ankrum, Corey Lajoie, Ty Majeski, and Jake Garcia.

The initial lead went to Tanner Gray at the start of the race, only for Heim to overtake them soon after. Stage 1 was won by Heim, with Majeski, Honeycutt, and Riggs close behind. Various incidents, such as Ruggiero and Hocevar’s pit road penalties, reshuffled the race order. Heim maintained control throughout Stage 2 and continued to dominate in the final stage until Honeycutt started closing in on him in the closing laps, creating a thrilling finish.

Despite facing late-race challenges, Heim emerged victorious in an exciting battle with his teammate Honeycutt. Both drivers displayed remarkable skills on the track, with Heim eventually clinching the win by a slim margin. This victory marks another significant achievement in Heim’s NCTS career, solidifying his position as a top contender in the series.
