President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, visited Sentosa Funeral Home at RSPAD Gatot Subroto in Central Jakarta to pay his respects to the late Kwik Kian Gie, a renowned economist and respected national statesman. Accompanied by the relatives and family of Kwik Kian Gie, President Prabowo paid tribute to the deceased in a solemn manner. Kwik, known for his advocacy of Pancasila-based economics, passed away at the age of 90 on July 28, 2025. President Prabowo described Kwik as not only an economist but also a friend and mentor who provided valuable insights for the nation’s development. Reflecting on their close relationship, Prabowo emphasized the personal connection and the continuous advice and guidance that Kwik provided over the years. Despite his passing, Kwik remained actively engaged, sending messages and recommendations to the President until the end. President Prabowo expressed his gratitude for the wisdom and contributions of Kwik Kian Gie, acknowledging the loss of one of Indonesia’s finest sons.
